Directions

  1. 1Take milk out of the fridge and leave it outside.
  2. 2Crush green cardamom and ginger.
  3. 3Put water in a saucepan and set the burner to high flame.
  4. 4Once the water is boiling, turn the flame to medium-low, and add crushed ginger, green cardamom and cloves to the boiling water.
  5. 5Let the mixture boil for 3 minutes so that the flavors can infuse.
  6. 6Add the tea leaves and the sugar.
  7. 7Once the tea settles, let the mixture boil on a medium flame.
  8. 8Add the milk, and let it cook while mixing with a ladle.
  9. 9Strain into a glass.
  10. 10Add a pinch of cinnamon and a cardamom powder.

  • 3 tsp Tea Leaves

Tips

  • Always take the milk from the fridge and let it sit outside.
  • Boil the water before adding any other ingredient.
  • It is VERY IMPORTANT to crush the ginger, do not grate it.
  • In hot climates, add some fennel to the chai. This will help cool you down.
  • In cold climates, add some black pepper or saffron. It helps when you have a cough or a cold.
  • Add the sugar with the tea leaves, if you want a strong tea.
  • Do not use cold milk or tea, you can also put some hot cinnamon and cardamom powder to give it that final aroma.
