Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef (85/15 works well)
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
0.25 cup panko bread crumbs
1.5 tsp garlic powder
1.5 tsp Italian seasoning
0.5 tsp kosher salt
0.5 tsp black pepper
4 slices provolone cheese
4 Tbsp butter
4 medium yellow onions, halved and sliced
0.5 tsp baking soda
2 cups water
1 Tbsp Better than Bouillon Beef Base
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2-3 Tbsp cornstarch
Equipment
Instant Pot
mixing bowl
Tips
You can use another type of cheese like swiss, gruyere, parmesan, mozzarella, etc.
This recipe makes a lot of gravy and you could easily halve the amount of gravy. Or you can double (or 1.5 times) the patty ingredients.
Serve the patties and gravy over homemade mashed potatoes or egg noodles. Other choices are cauliflower rice, rice, buttered toast, etc.
If you don’t have Better than Bouillon you can use another type of beef base or bouillon cube.
I used my 6 quart Instant Pot but you can also make this in an 8 quart pot.
