Directions
1
Take the membrane off the slab of ribs by starting in the middle, getting your finger underneath, and working your way to the other side.
2
Once you have a grip, pull it off in one piece.
3
Cut off the last couple of bones if desired.
4
Apply Deuce's Wild Original Rub or your favorite barbecue rub to the backside first, then the top side of the ribs.
5
Place the ribs in a Southern Pride smoker at 250° for 2 hours.
6
After 2 hours, the ribs should have a mahogany color, indicating they are ready to wrap.
7
Wrap the ribs with brown sugar, butter, and apple juice, placing them face side down with a little more brown sugar.
8
Close them up and place them back in the smoker for one more hour.
9
Check the tenderness of the ribs with a thermometer; it should go in with basically no resistance when done.
10
Collect the juice and smoke flavor from the pork and pour it into a pot.
11
Add the whole bottle of Deuce's Wild competition barbecue sauce to the pot with the collected juices.
12
Sauce both sides of the ribs with the prepared barbecue sauce.
13
Place the sauced ribs back in the smoker for about 10 minutes.
14
To present the ribs, brush some sauce on your board.
15
Flip the ribs over and cut through the bones where they line up.
