Skillet Pita Bread

Directions

  1. 1Start with 3 cups of all-purpose flour and add up to an additional 1/2 cup if the mixture is too sticky.
  2. 2Add warm water, salt, and yeast to the flour.
  3. 3Mix everything until well combined.
  4. 4Divide the dough into 8 sections.
  5. 5Roll out each section fairly thin, but not as thin as tortillas.
  6. 6Make sure your workspace and wherever the dough will rest are well floured.
  7. 7Let the rolled-out dough rest for 40-60 minutes to puff up a little.
  8. 8Cook on a hot skillet.
  9. 9Cook the first side for about a minute then flip.
  10. 10Let it puff up (this might take about a minute).
  11. 11Once puffed, flip again and keep flipping until fully cooked.
