Directions

  1. 1For the spicy tomato sauce: Peel and mash tomatoes after cooking 15 min in 2 tbsp olive oil. Stir in garlic, cilantro, red pepper flakes, paprika, salt & pepper. Set aside.
  2. 2For the pickled onions: Mix thinly sliced red onion, chopped cilantro, red vinegar, sumac, and salt in a bowl and refrigerate.
  3. 3For the garlic sauce: Mix mayonnaise, olive oil, and minced garlic in a bowl.
  4. 4For the Doner Kebab Meat: Mix ground beef, Greek yogurt, paprika, baharat seasoning, onion powder, garlic, black pepper, and salt.
  5. 5Roll the meat mixture thin between parchment paper, then shape into a log.
  6. 6Place the meat log in an oven dish with quartered tomato, halved onion, and jalapeños. Drizzle with olive oil, salt & pepper.
  7. 7Bake at 400°F for 25 min.
  8. 8Heat a sauce pan over medium-high heat. Unwrap the kebab, add some pan juices, and sear for 2 min.
  9. 9Warm pita bread. Layer with garlic sauce, spicy tomato sauce, sliced meat, pickled onions, and jalapeños.
  10. 10Serve with fries.

Tips

  • Adjust red pepper flakes to taste.
