Directions

  1. 1Cut out the stem on the greens.
  2. 2Stack the leaves on top of each other and roll them up tight like a cigar.
  3. 3Cut the rolled greens into sections.
  4. 4Clean the greens with apple cider vinegar and wash them about 3-5 times until the water runs clear.
  5. 5Add chicken broth and smoked turkey necks (or any smoked meat) to a pot.
  6. 6Add onions, crushed red pepper, Tony's seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, a pinch of brown sugar, two caps of apple cider vinegar, and a little liquid smoke to the pot.
  7. 7Cover the pot with a lid and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
  8. 8Add the cleaned greens to the pot.
  9. 9Cover the greens with a lid and let them cook for about 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring every 20 minutes.
  10. 10Shred off the turkey meat from the necks.
  11. 11Plate the collard greens with whatever else you desire.
