Directions

  1. 1Line your cookie sheet very well with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. 2Arrange Purity Cream Crackers on the lined cookie sheet, ensuring no gaps.
  3. 3In a small to medium pot, add 1.25 cups of butter.
  4. 4Add 1.25 cups of brown sugar to the pot with the butter.
  5. 5Bring the butter and brown sugar mixture to a boil over medium to low heat on the stovetop.
  6. 6Once boiling, continue to boil the mixture for 5 minutes, stirring from time to time to prevent burning.
  7. 7Immediately pour the hot, bubbling caramel mixture over the crackers on the cookie sheet, ensuring all crackers are coated.
  8. 8Place the cookie sheet in a 350-degree Fahrenheit oven for 5 minutes.
  9. 9As soon as you remove it from the oven, start adding butterscotch chips (less than half a package was used).
  10. 10Add a full package of milk chocolate chips over the butterscotch chips.
  11. 11Pop the cookie sheet back into the turned-off oven for 1-2 minutes to speed up the melting process of the chips.
  12. 12Using an oven mitt and a spatula, spread the melted butterscotch and milk chocolate chips evenly over the crackers.
  13. 13Decorate the Christmas crack with red and green sprinkles.
  14. 14Add half-split red and green Christmas M&M's and some candy dust for extra festive color.
  15. 15Let the Christmas crack cool on the counter for about half an hour, then pop it into the fridge for about an hour or more to fully set.
  16. 16Once chilled and set, crack the Christmas crack into pieces along the cracker lines.
  17. 17Transfer the cracked pieces onto a plate and put them back in the fridge to chill a bit more if needed.
  18. 18Taste a piece to ensure the quality of your Christmas crack.
