Directions
1
Start by crushing up two sleeves of saltines and then soaking them in milk.
2
Let it sit for 5 minutes.
3
Go in with an egg, some sugar, vanilla, a little cinnamon, and melted butter.
4
Give that a stir.
5
Heat up your griddle or pan.
6
You want to melt some more butter and then add these on.
7
Spread them out a little bit to flatten them.
8
Cook them until they're golden brown on one side.
9
Flip it and go another couple minutes.
10
Top them just how you do your regular pancakes.
Ingredients
8 ounces saltine crackers, crushed
1.75 cup milk
0.25 cup milk if needed
1 large egg, beaten
2 tablespoons white sugar
0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons melted butter
butter, for cooking
Syrup, for serving
fresh sliced strawberries or blueberries, for serving
Equipment
griddle
pan
large bowl
large skillet
Tips
Don't be scared when the soaked crackers look like that.
You get that hint of saltiness with the sweet syrup, but also it gets really crusty around the edges, so it tastes like the edges of French toast.
