Directions

  1. 1In a pan, add water, oil, and salt.
  2. 2Add glutinous rice flour.
  3. 3Mix well and cover.
  4. 4Knead well.
  5. 5Tease as shown in the video.
  6. 6Cut into pieces.
  7. 7Steam for 7 minutes.
  8. 8Add glutinous rice flour to a pan.
  9. 9Add water and mix.
  10. 10Make into a thick paste.
  11. 11Add Kashmiri chili powder and chili powder.
  12. 12Add sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  13. 13Add salt, and oyster sauce or fish sauce
  14. 14Mix well.
  15. 15Add 1 tbsp of vinegar.
  16. 16Add oil, and chopped garlic.
  17. 17Add water.
  18. 18Add Gochujang paste.
  19. 19Add soy sauce, chili powder, and salt.
  20. 20Add vinegar.
  21. 21Add the rice cakes.
  22. 22Mix well.
  23. 23Add sesame seeds.
  24. 24Tteokbokki ready.

Tips

  • If you have sticky rice flour you can use that, otherwise you can use regular rice flour.
  • Use Gochujang sauce. If you are in India, it's available in Big Basket or in large supermarkets.
  • For those in UAE, Noon Minutes is a great option.
