Ekdum Jhatpat Onion Tomato Chutney

Directions

  1. 1The cooked chutney is mixed using a mortar and pestle.
  2. 2Scoop out a portion of the mixed chutney with hand.
  3. 3Spread the chutney on a roti.
  4. 4Roll the roti with the chutney inside.
  5. 5Take out the raw mango from the basket.
  6. 6Slice the raw mango.
  7. 7Cut the onion in half.
  8. 8Dice one half of the onion into small pieces.
  9. 9Cut the tomatoes in half.
  10. 10Peel the garlic cloves.
  11. 11Prepare the frying pan on the stove.
  12. 12Add oil to the frying pan.
  13. 13Place the cut tomatoes in the pan.
  14. 14Add the sliced raw mango, green chilies, and onion halves to the pan.
  15. 15Stir the ingredients in the pan.
  16. 16Add the peeled garlic cloves to the pan.
  17. 17Stir the ingredients and roast them until slightly charred.
  18. 18Transfer the roasted ingredients from the pan into a mortar.
  19. 19Begin crushing the roasted ingredients in the mortar.
  20. 20Add Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, salt, Jeera Powder, and Coriander Powder to the crushed mixture.
  21. 21Add the diced onion, Chaat Masala and Chopped Coriander Leaves to the mixture in the mortar.
  22. 22Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with the pestle.
  23. 23Continue crushing and mixing until the chutney is well combined and has a uniform texture.

  • 15 -20 Garlic Cloves
  • 4 -5 Green Chillies

  • to Taste Salt
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Jeera Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tbsp Chaat Masala
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves

Tips

  • Roast ingredients on medium to high flame using oil.
