Directions

  1. 1In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Whisk well and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. 2Add flour, water, egg, oil, and salt to the mixture.
  3. 3Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 10 minutes to knead the dough.
  4. 4Once kneaded, place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for at least an hour (1.5 hours is better).
  5. 5Punch down the risen dough and cut it into six equal pieces (or ten for hot dog buns).
  6. 6Roll each piece into a ball, then roll each ball into a rectangle.
  7. 7Fold each rectangle in half, seal the edges, and roll into a log shape.
  8. 8Place the logs on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise again for 45-60 minutes in a warm place.
  9. 9Brush the risen buns with egg wash and sprinkle with a mixture of Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
  10. 10Bake at 400°F for approximately 15 minutes. Once done, brush with butter.
  11. 11Let the buns cool slightly before slicing open and adding your favorite fillings.
