Brown butter banana oat chocolate chip cookies

Directions

  1. 1Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty (5–8 minutes).
  2. 2Let the brown butter cool slightly.
  3. 3Mix dry ingredients: flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. 4Mix wet ingredients: browned butter, both sugars, mashed banana, yogurt, and vanilla.
  5. 5Stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined, before the flour is fully incorporated.
  6. 6Fold in chocolate chips, making sure not to overmix.
  7. 7Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes and up to 12 hours.
  8. 8Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheets.
  9. 9Scoop large cookie dough balls (about 3 tbsp each).
  10. 10Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are golden and centers look soft.
  11. 11Tap the pan to let any air out.
  12. 12Cool on the sheet for a few minutes then transfer to a baking rack.
  13. 13Sprinkle with flaky salt!
