Baked Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese

Directions

  1. 1Heat up some olive oil in a large pot.
  2. 2Add in the ground beef and cook until crumbled and browned.
  3. 3Add in the chopped onions and green bell peppers.
  4. 4Remove any excess grease from the pot using paper towels.
  5. 5Cook the mixture until the onions become translucent.
  6. 6Add in the garlic, garlic powder, and paprika.
  7. 7Stir and cook everything together for about a minute.
  8. 8Melt in the butter and sprinkle in the flour.
  9. 9Cook the flour in the mixture for about a minute.
  10. 10Add in the tomato paste, sriracha sauce, and the soy sauce.
  11. 11Stir everything together until combined.
  12. 12Pour in the beef stock, milk, and the tomato sauce.
  13. 13Give this a good stir and bring it to a simmer.
  14. 14Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 7 minutes.
  15. 15Once thickened, add in the sour cream, half of the shredded cheese, and some salt and pepper to taste.
  16. 16Stir everything together until the cheese has completely melted.
  17. 17Pour in the cooked macaroni pasta into the sauce.
  18. 18Gently toss and fold everything together.
  19. 19In a 9x12 inch casserole, pour in half of the pasta.
  20. 20Sprinkle on top some of the remaining shredded cheese.
  21. 21Layer in the remaining pasta and sprinkle the rest of the cheeses on top.
  22. 22Bake this at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes or until it looks golden brown.

  • 1 pound corkscrew macaroni, cooked to al denta
  • 2 lb. Ground Beef, 85% lean
  • 1 yellow onion, small diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, small diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1.5 cups beef broth
  • 15 oz canned tomato sauce
  • 0.5 cup whole milk, at room temp
  • 0.5 cup sour cream or cream cheese at room temp
  • Salt/Pepper
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese (half in the sauce, half for layering)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (half in the sauce, half for layering)
  • Dried Parsley
  • olive oil
