Crockpot Roast

Directions

  1. 1Sear the 4-pound beef chuck roast in a hot skillet with a little oil, seasoned with flavor time Southern seasoning, until seared on both sides.
  2. 2Remove the seared roast from the skillet and place it into the crock pot.
  3. 3In the same pan, add one stick of butter, one chopped medium-sized onion, five chopped ribs of celery, and five sliced carrots.
  4. 4Add half a tablespoon each of black pepper, garlic powder, and oregano.
  5. 5Add one packet of au jus gravy, one packet of beef stew mix, and one packet of Lipton onion soup mix.
  6. 6Add one 8-ounce can of tomato sauce and 8 ounces of pepperoncini slices with some of their juice.
  7. 7Pour in one 14 1/2 ounce can of beef broth.
  8. 8Bring the mixture to a simmer while stirring to incorporate everything for a few minutes.
  9. 9Add all the mixture into the crock pot with the roast.
  10. 10Place the lid on the crock pot and cook on high for 6 to 7 hours.
  11. 11Serve the roast on top of mashed potatoes with extra gravy.
