Combine all-purpose flour, salt, yeast, and sugar in a bowl.

Add warm water to the dry ingredients and mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Transfer the dough to a floured flat surface.

Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes soft and smooth.

Cut the dough into 12 pieces to make a dozen bagels.

Flatten each piece of dough, pull all the sides into the middle, and smooth it into a ball.

Poke a hole in the middle of each dough ball and pull to create a bagel shape.

Cover the shaped bagels and let them rise for 30 minutes.

Once risen, place a pot of boiling water on the stove and boil each bagel for about 30 seconds on each side.

Transfer the boiled bagels to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Brush the bagels with egg wash and add any desired toppings, such as sesame seeds.

Bake the bagels at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes.
