Directions

  1. 1Set up a double boiler.
  2. 2Add 1 cup of white chocolate chips to the double boiler.
  3. 3Mix and melt down the white chocolate chips for 3-4 minutes.
  4. 4While the chocolate melts, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. 5Once the white chocolate is melted, turn off the heat.
  6. 6Slowly add in a half of a cup of the malted milk powder, a little bit at a time.
  7. 7Mix until it becomes thicker.
  8. 8Allow the mixture to cool for 2 minutes.
  9. 9Take a pinch of the mixture, as big or as little as you like, and roll it into a ball.
  10. 10Place the rolled balls on the prepared baking sheet.
  11. 11Do this with all your dough.
  12. 12Put the baking sheet in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  13. 13While the balls are in the freezer, get your double boiler going again.
  14. 14Melt down 1 cup of dark chocolate or milk chocolate.
  15. 15Once your chocolate is completely melted, get your frozen malt balls.
  16. 16Dip each malt ball in the melted chocolate.
  17. 17Let the excess chocolate drip off.
  18. 18Put the chocolate-dipped balls on your pan.
  19. 19Once you've dipped all your frozen malt balls in chocolate, put them in the fridge for 10 minutes to set.

Tips

  • You want the mixture to be stiff enough that you can form little balls.
  • If you need to add in more malted powder to make it even thicker to where you can form balls, add about a tablespoon at a time.
  • They don't have to be perfect, they're homemade.
