1Prep a bowl of ice water and boil your water at the same time.
2Add the green beans to the boiling water and cook for 7-8 minutes until they are bright green, slightly crunchy, and soft to the bite.
3Immediately transfer the cooked green beans to the ice water to stop the cooking process and let them cool down.
4Peel garlic cloves and zhuzh them with a little avocado oil until it's a watery texture with visible pieces of garlic.
5Heat your biggest frying pan and add oil to coat the bottom.
6Add green beans to the hot pan in a single layer and let them sit undisturbed for 1 to 2 minutes until blistered, then toss and repeat once more to get a char on the bottom.
7Add the zhuzhed garlic to the pan with the green beans and cook and toss for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
8Remove the green beans with the oil, garlic, and char from the pan and place them in a serving bowl.
9In the same dirty pan, add sesame oil, soy sauce, and coconut sugar (or regular sugar/maple syrup).
10Mix the sauce until the sugar melts and it becomes glossy.
11Pour the sauce on top of the green beans.
12Zest the peels of two full lemons into the green beans.
13Juice the two full lemons and add the juice to the green beans.
14Salt generously to taste and mix everything together.
15Serve immediately.
