Directions

  1. 1Dice half an onion.
  2. 2Set oven to 425 degrees.
  3. 3Heat a pan over medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil, add sausage, and break it up into small pieces.
  4. 4Add onion and cook until the sausage is browned.
  5. 5Add Italian seasoning, minced garlic, a pinch of salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. 6Add jar of marinara and a splash of water. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. 7Combine ricotta cheese and 1 egg in a bowl and mix.
  8. 8Drizzle olive oil on a sheet pan and spread it.
  9. 9Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the pan, then a layer of no-boil lasagna noodles.
  10. 10Dot with half of the ricotta mixture and spread, add half of the remaining meat sauce, then sprinkle with 3/4 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  11. 11Repeat with a second layer of noodles, the remaining ricotta, meat sauce, and more cheese.
  12. 12Cover the pan with foil.
  13. 13Bake covered for 20 minutes.
  14. 14Carefully remove the foil, then bake for another 15 minutes.
  15. 15Optionally, broil on high for 2-3 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  • 1/2 whole onion, diced
  • 1 lb italian sausage
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • black pepper (optional)
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 splash water
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 whole egg
  • olive oil (optional)
  • 1 package no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 3/4 cup low-moisture mozzarella cheese

Tips

  • If you do not trust your ability to tent the foil, wait to add your cheese until after removing the foil.
