French Onion Rice

Directions

  1. 1Slice your onion however you want.
  2. 2Drop the sliced onions into a hot oiled pan and sauté them until they are golden and caramelized.
  3. 3Set the caramelized onions aside.
  4. 4In your favorite 1 and 3/4 to 2-quart baking dish, add 1 and 1/4 cups of long grain rice, 1 can of beef broth, and 1 can of French onion soup.
  5. 5Give this a quick stir.
  6. 6Ploop the caramelized onions right on top and spread them out in an even layer.
  7. 7Add 1 stick of unsalted butter, cut into little pats.
  8. 8Cover your baking dish and throw it in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.
  9. 9When the 45 minutes are up, take it out of the oven, remove the lid, and admire it.
  10. 10Grab a fork and check to see how much liquid is left.
  11. 11If there's a lot of liquid left, put it back in the oven uncovered until it's tender and perfect.
  12. 12If your rice is perfect, grab a serving spoon and fill up a bowl.
  13. 13If you have parsley, sprinkle it on top to make it look fancy.
