Serves 1

Directions

  1. 1Add 1/4 cup of your leftover white wine to 1/2 cup of sea salt.
  2. 2Let it sit overnight.
  3. 3Drain any excess wine through a fine sieve.
  4. 4Add a few tablespoons of your favorite herbs and spices, such as lemon zest and thyme.
  5. 5Dehydrate the salt until it is dry.
  6. 6You can use an oven on the lowest setting, an actual dehydrator at 125°, or if you have time, just let it air dry.
  7. 7Store in an airtight container.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 Cup Sea Salt
  • 0.25 Cup White Wine
  • 2 Tbs Chopped Herbs/ Spices
  • Lemon Zest
  • Thyme

Equipment

bowlfine mesh sieveovendehydratorairtight container

Tips

  • The flavor of white wine is a bit less strong than a bold red. Make sure that your herbs are nearly powdered before adding to make sure they don’t overwhelm the white wine flavor in your salt!
