Directions

  1. 1Heat a pot over medium heat and add some oil.
  2. 2Sear the seasoned beef chuck roast in the pot.
  3. 3In the same pot, cook the chopped onions.
  4. 4Sauté the onions for 5 minutes.
  5. 5Add ginger and garlic to the pot.
  6. 6Add paprika and neutral oil to the mixture.
  7. 7Add curry powder to the pot.
  8. 8Toast the curry powder for 2-3 minutes.
  9. 9Add butter to the pot.
  10. 10Add flour to the pot.
  11. 11Chop five ghost chili peppers on a cutting board.
  12. 12Add the chopped ghost chili peppers to the pot.
  13. 13Pour in water, add grated apple and beef stock cubes.
  14. 14Blend the sauce until smooth.
  15. 15Pour the blended sauce back into the pot.
  16. 16Add the seared beef back into the pot.
  17. 17Simmer the curry for 1-1.5 hours, or pressure cook for 30 minutes, until the beef is tender.
  18. 18Once the meat is tender, add chopped carrots and potatoes and simmer for 20 more minutes.
  19. 19Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and honey to taste.

  • 2 lbs chuck roast

  • 160 g onions
  • 10 g ginger
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbsp paprika
  • 2 Tbsp neutral oil
  • 3 Tbsp curry powder
  • 100 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • 5 ghost chili peppers
  • 5 Cups water
  • 120 g grated apple
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 500 g potatoes
  • 300 g carrots
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp honey

Tips

  • If you cannot handle the heat, do not add the ghost peppers. It will still be delicious.
  • The creator recommends using only 1-2 peppers instead of 5.
  • Totally optional, but you can blend the sauce for a smoother consistency if you prefer (as done in the video).
