Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk for 1-2 minutes until a smooth paste forms.
  4. 4Crack in the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  5. 5Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet batter and gently fold until just combined.
  6. 6Add chocolate chips and mix with a spatula. Do not overmix the batter.
  7. 7Scoop out 9 cookies onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  8. 8Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the edges and gooey in the center.
  9. 9Remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
