Directions
1
Transfer the frosting into a larger mixing bowl.
2
Add the softened butter and vanilla bean paste to the bowl.
3
If using unsalted butter or cream cheese, add 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
4
Whip the mixture together using an electric mixer until well combined, light, and fluffy.
Ingredients
1 container vanilla frosting
1/2 cup salted butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
1/4-1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional)
1/4 tsp salt (optional)
Equipment
bowl
knife
electric mixer
Tips
Adding butter helps the frosting taste better, makes it stretch, and cuts down on the sweetness.
You can substitute softened cream cheese for the butter.
You can use vanilla extract instead of vanilla bean paste.
If you want to add sugar, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
Whipping store-bought frosting alone increases the volume and makes it lighter and fluffier.
