Heat olive oil in a pan until hot.

Add 500 grams of mince to the hot oil.

Season the mince with salt and cook without touching it initially to get good color.

Dice one red onion and three small tomatoes.

Crush one large clove of garlic and finely dice it.

Add the diced onions to the beef.

Stir the beef, breaking it up at the same time, until it has good color on the bottom.

Add the diced tomatoes and garlic to the beef.

Season with smoked paprika, ground coriander, garlic powder, cumin, garam masala, and chili.

Give everything a good stir.

Cover and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes.

Add around a cup of frozen peas.

Stir the peas through the mixture.

Add half a cup of water.

Simmer for another 2 minutes.

Serve the mince over rice.

Tips
Don't stir the mince immediately after adding it to the hot oil to allow it to brown.
Break up the mince with the back of a wooden spoon as it cooks.
Serve with chopped coriander for an enhanced flavor and presentation.
