Pumpkin Spiced Pulled Pork

Directions

  1. 1Score the fat cap of the pork shoulder.
  2. 2Drizzle Worcestershire sauce over the pork shoulder.
  3. 3Season all sides of the pork shoulder heavily with all-purpose rub, patting it in.
  4. 4Place the pork shoulder on the smoker preheated to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  5. 5Remove the top of the pumpkin.
  6. 6Scoop out the seeds and guts from the pumpkin.
  7. 7Once the pork shoulder reaches an internal temperature of about 160-170 degrees Fahrenheit, place it inside the hollowed-out pumpkin.
  8. 8Add apple cider, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the pumpkin with the pork.
  9. 9Place the top back on the pumpkin.
  10. 10Return the whole pumpkin to the smoker and continue cooking until the pork is tender.
  11. 11Remove the bone from the pork.
  12. 12Shred the meat and mix it with the juices inside the pumpkin.
