Directions

Mix in butter, golden syrup and sugar.

Leave it on a low heat for a few minutes until the butter has melted.

Remove from heat.

Add rolled oats, self-raising flour, semolina and two teaspoons of ginger powder (or more if you like it spicier).

After a good stir, spread the mixture evenly in the tin.

Slip the tin into the fridge.

Divide the mixture into equal sized squares.

Roll the squares into balls.

Press the balls down gently and leave enough space.

Bake for about 15 minutes at 160 fan until crisp.

150 grams butter
1 tablespoon golden syrup
175 grams sugar
rolled oats
self-raising flour
semolina
2 teaspoons ginger powder

Tips
Divide the mixture into equal sized squares before rolling into balls.
Press them down gently and leave enough space as they'll spread in the oven during baking.
