Combine half a cup of granulated sugar and half a cup of packed brown sugar with half a cup of melted butter.

Whisk the sugar and butter mixture well.

Add one teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Add two large, room-temperature eggs to the mixture.

Whisk the mixture together again.

Add half a cup of all-purpose flour, half a cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, a dash of salt, and a quarter teaspoon of baking soda.

Whisk all ingredients together until well combined.

Chop a chocolate bar and add the chocolate chunks (or other preferred add-ins) to the batter.

Pour the batter into an 8x8 pan.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes.

Let the brownies sit in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes after baking.
