2
In a bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, onion soup mix, honey, and cola. Stir until well mixed.
3
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken wings, making sure they are well coated.
4
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the wings are tender and cooked through.
5
Transfer the wings to a foil-lined baking sheet.
6
Brush the wings with some of the cooking sauce and broil for 3–5 minutes, watching closely.
7
Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce, if desired.
Ingredients
2-3 lbs chicken wings
1 bottle BBQ sauce
1 packet onion soup mix
2 tbsp honey
1 can cola
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
sesame seeds (optional)
green onions, chopped (optional)
Equipment
slow cooker
bowl
foil-lined baking sheet
brush
Tips
Pat the chicken wings dry before adding them to the slow cooker.
Choose your favorite barbecue sauce, whether smoky, sweet, or spicy.
Stir the sauce ingredients together before pouring them over the wings.
Avoid opening the lid frequently because it releases heat and slows cooking.
For crispy, sticky wings, finish them under the oven broiler for 3–5 minutes after slow cooking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
Cook until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
