Mix dry ingredients separately for the cake.

Mix wet ingredients separately for the cake.

Combine dry and wet ingredients for the cake.

Pour the cake batter into a parchment-lined 9x13 pan.

Bake the cake at 350° for 20–25 minutes.

Cool the cake completely.

For the cream filling, whip butter, palm shortening (or more butter), powdered sugar, optional honey, vanilla, and 2-3 tbsp milk until fluffy.

Spread the cream filling between cake squares and sandwich them together.
