Directions
- 1Cut the bacon into small pieces and cook in a pot.
- 2Remove the cooked bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.
- 3Add the diced yellow onion to the pot and cook until softened.
- 4Stir in the flour.
- 5Add minced garlic.
- 6Pour in the milk.
- 7Add the heavy whipping cream.
- 8Pour in the chicken broth.
- 9Add chicken bouillon.
- 10Grind black pepper into the soup.
- 11Add iodized salt to taste.
- 12Add the diced golden potatoes to the pot.
- 13Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- 14Mix until well combined and the cheese is melted.
- 15Serve the soup in a bowl and garnish with cooked bacon, green onions, and a dollop of sour cream.
