Smothered Turkey Wings

Directions

  1. 1Clean the turkey wings with lemon, distilled white vinegar, and fresh rosemary sprigs.
  2. 2Place the turkey wings in a bowl with water, lemon, vinegar, and rosemary, then refrigerate.
  3. 3Pat the turkey wings dry with a paper towel.
  4. 4Drizzle olive oil over the turkey wings.
  5. 5Season the turkey wings with rosemary garlic seasoning, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika.
  6. 6Rub the seasoning into the turkey wings.
  7. 7Add olive oil to a cast iron skillet.
  8. 8Place the seasoned turkey wings in the skillet.
  9. 9Brown the turkey wings on both sides.
  10. 10Remove the browned turkey wings from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined tray.
  11. 11Add a pat of butter to the skillet.
  12. 12Season the skillet with Morton Season All.
  13. 13Add all-purpose flour to the skillet.
  14. 14Stir the flour and seasonings to create a roux.
  15. 15Pour chicken broth into the skillet and whisk until smooth.
  16. 16Add sliced green bell peppers and onions to the gravy.
  17. 17Return the browned turkey wings to the skillet with the gravy.
  18. 18Bake the skillet in the oven until the turkey wings are tender and smothered.
  19. 19Remove the skillet from the oven.
  20. 20Serve the smothered turkey wings over rice.
  21. 21Garnish with fresh parsley.
