Directions

  1. 1Zest eight lemons into a bowl of sugar.
  2. 2Massage sugar and zest together to extract lemon oils.
  3. 3Add the sugar mixture to a pan with water.
  4. 4Bring to a boil then kill the heat.
  5. 5Strain the syrup.
  6. 6If you want a super clear syrup, run it through a coffee filter.
  7. 7Add ice to glass.
  8. 8Squeeze in one whole lemon.
  9. 9Sweeten with lemon syrup.
  10. 10Top it off with water.

  • 8 zest lemons
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 whole lemon
  • ice
  • lemon syrup
  • water

Tips

  • Avoid getting the white part of the lemon when zesting to prevent bitterness.
