French Onion Burger

Directions

  1. 1Mix 1 packet of French onion dip seasoning into the ground beef.
  2. 2Slice two medium yellow onions into thin strips.
  3. 3Heat a pan on high, add half a stick of butter and a splash of olive oil, then add the sliced onions.
  4. 4Cook onions for 3 minutes, add a splash of Kentucky bourbon, stir in the remaining half packet of French onion dip, cover, and simmer on medium-low.
  5. 5Divide meat into four portions and form into balls.
  6. 6Flatten burger balls into patties using parchment paper and the back of a flat plate.
  7. 7Toast buns on a hot griddle with a little oil and butter.
  8. 8Grill burger patties on the griddle, flip after a couple of minutes, and top with the onion mixture and baby swiss cheese.

  • 2 1/2 pounds 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 1/2 packet Dan-O's French onion dip seasoning packet
  • 2 whole yellow onion
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 splash olive oil
  • 1 splash Kentucky bourbon
  • 4 slice baby swiss cheese
  • 4 whole burger bun
