Directions
1
Get a big pot of water to a rolling boil.
2
Add 3 pounds of shell on white shrimp and 1 bottle of Dan-O's seasoning to the boiling water.
3
Put the lid on the pot to bring the water back to a boil quickly.
4
Once boiling again, cook the shrimp for about 1 minute until they float to the top.
5
Immediately remove the cooked shrimp from the pot and place them into a bowl.
6
Add ice and cold water to the shrimp in the bowl to create an ice bath, which stops the cooking process and keeps them tender.
7
Set the chilled shrimp aside.
8
To make the cocktail sauce, start with 1 cup of ketchup.
9
Add about 3 ounces (half a jar) of fresh prepared horseradish to the ketchup.
10
Add about 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce.
11
Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the mixture.
12
Add about 1 tablespoon of Dan-O's seasoning.
13
Mix all the cocktail sauce ingredients together.
14
Peel the shrimp.
15
Serve the shrimp with the homemade spicy cocktail sauce.

Tips
To stop the cooking and keep shrimp tender, immediately transfer cooked shrimp to an ice bath.
Using an ice bath also makes shrimp easier to peel.
