Directions
- 1Get a big pot of water to a rolling boil.
- 2Add 3 pounds of shell on white shrimp and 1 bottle of Dan-O's seasoning to the boiling water.
- 3Put the lid on the pot to bring the water back to a boil quickly.
- 4Once boiling again, cook the shrimp for about 1 minute until they float to the top.
- 5Immediately remove the cooked shrimp from the pot and place them into a bowl.
- 6Add ice and cold water to the shrimp in the bowl to create an ice bath, which stops the cooking process and keeps them tender.
- 7Set the chilled shrimp aside.
- 8To make the cocktail sauce, start with 1 cup of ketchup.
- 9Add about 3 ounces (half a jar) of fresh prepared horseradish to the ketchup.
- 10Add about 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce.
- 11Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the mixture.
- 12Add about 1 tablespoon of Dan-O's seasoning.
- 13Mix all the cocktail sauce ingredients together.
- 14Peel the shrimp.
- 15Serve the shrimp with the homemade spicy cocktail sauce.

Tips
- To stop the cooking and keep shrimp tender, immediately transfer cooked shrimp to an ice bath.
- Using an ice bath also makes shrimp easier to peel.
