Orange Sesame Chicken Salad

Directions

  1. 1Add 5 cups of shredded green cabbage into a bowl.
  2. 2Add 2 segmented oranges to the bowl.
  3. 3Add 1 diced avocado to the bowl.
  4. 4Add 1 cup of sliced green onions to the bowl.
  5. 5Add a quarter cup of sliced cilantro to the bowl.
  6. 6Cube up two chicken breasts.
  7. 7Season the chicken breasts with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder.
  8. 8Cook the chicken until it is nice and brown on the outside.
  9. 9Toss the cooked chicken on top of the salad ingredients in the bowl.
  10. 10Add a quarter cup of slivered almonds and 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds into a pan and toast them up.
  11. 11Toss the toasted almonds and sesame seeds on the salad.
  12. 12Into a mason jar, add half a cup of sesame oil.
  13. 13Add a quarter cup of maple syrup to the jar.
  14. 14Add a third of a cup of low sodium soy sauce to the jar.
  15. 15Add three tablespoons of rice wine vinegar to the jar.
  16. 16Add three tablespoons of fresh ginger to the jar.
  17. 17Add the zest of an orange to the jar.
  18. 18Add about a tablespoon of fresh orange juice to the jar.
  19. 19Give the jar a good shake to mix the dressing.
  20. 20Pour the dressing over the salad and mix it up.
