Homemade Vanilla Sauce

Directions

  1. 1Bring 1 cup of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. 2While the water is heating, make a cornstarch slurry by adding 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to some cold water and mixing it.
  3. 3Once the water begins to boil, add the cornstarch mixture.
  4. 4Bring the mixture back to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. 5While the sauce is cooking, add 0.5 cup of sugar, a pinch of salt, 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla into a bowl.
  6. 6Carefully pour the hot mixture into your bowl with the other ingredients and let it melt everything for 1 minute.
  7. 7Mix until everything has completely melted and dissolved.
  8. 8Allow the sauce to cool completely before transferring it to a container or jar for storage.
