Directions

  1. 1Place the sweet potatoes in boiling water and let them boil long enough until you can easily pierce them with a fork, approximately 6 to 10 minutes depending on their size.
  2. 2Remove the sweet potatoes from the boiling water.
  3. 3Cut the ends off the sweet potatoes.
  4. 4Peel the skin off the sweet potatoes.
  5. 5Slice the peeled sweet potatoes into round pieces.
  6. 6Transfer the sliced sweet potatoes to a bowl.
  7. 7Melt butter in a pot over medium-low heat.
  8. 8Add white sugar to the melted butter.
  9. 9Add brown sugar to the mixture.
  10. 10Stir the sugar and butter mixture.
  11. 11Add pure maple syrup to the mixture.
  12. 12Add cinnamon, ground ginger, and nutmeg to the mixture.
