Start by softening butter, use a quarter cup of butter, put some water in the microwave, dump it out, and place the cup over the butter so it starts softening.
Add a cup and a half of flour to a bowl.
Add the softened butter to the flour.
Add a teaspoon of salt to the mixture.
Crumble everything together with your hands to make a sandy mixture.
Once the butter is evenly spread out in the flour mixture, add about a cup of hot water.
Mix everything together until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on the counter until it's not sticking to your hands.
Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them.
Dip each dough ball in flour and roll them into thin tortillas using a rolling pin.
Cook the tortillas on a hot griddle for about 20-30 seconds per side.
Once the tortillas start bubbling, flip them over.
Use a towel to press lightly on the tortillas while cooking to help them puff up nicely.
