Mongolian Beef and Noodles

Directions

  1. 1Get a pot of water boiling for your noodles.
  2. 2Start cooking 1 and 1/2 pounds of ground beef.
  3. 3To a separate bowl, add 3/4 cups of low sodium soy sauce, a half of a cup of dark brown sugar, two tablespoons of hoisin sauce, two to three teaspoons of minced ginger, a dash of red pepper flakes, then two tablespoons of cornstarch.
  4. 4Whisk the sauce mixture really well and set it aside for later.
  5. 5Once the water starts boiling, add your noodles to the water and cook them as the package directions say.
  6. 6Once the ground beef is done cooking, drain all the grease.
  7. 7Add a couple tablespoons of minced garlic to the ground beef.
  8. 8Let the garlic cook for 30 seconds or so.
  9. 9Dump in your sauce.
  10. 10Take 1 and 1/2 cups of pasta water and add that to the sauce.
  11. 11Heat the sauce to a boiling, then keep mixing it, and then turn it down.
  12. 12Once the pasta is all finished cooking, add it to your sauce.
  13. 13Toss the noodles and sauce up really well.
  14. 14Add some sliced green onions to the top.

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 0.75 cups low sodium soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tsp minced ginger
  • 3 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 dash red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • noodles
  • angel hair pasta
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1.5 cups pasta water
  • sliced green onions
