Brownie Mix in a Jar

Directions

  1. 1Add sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt to a pint size mason jar and mix together until combined.
  2. 2Top with 1/2 cup of chocolate chunks.
  3. 3Seal with a lid.
  4. 4Alternatively, you can mix sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a bowl then add the mixture to the jar and top with chocolate chunks.
  5. 5For a layered jar, add sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt to a jar and mix.
  6. 6Gently tamp the layer down.
  7. 7Next, add cocoa on top and use a tamper to tamp cocoa down.
  8. 8Top with chocolate chunks.
  9. 9Add a lid and tag with baking instructions.

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup flour
  • 0.33 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chunks or chocolate chips or a mixture of chocolate chips and chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Tips

  • You can use a sugar substitute like Swerve or Monkfruit.
  • You can mix the ingredients directly in the jar or in a bowl first.
  • For a layered jar look, add sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt first and tamp down, then add cocoa and tamp down, then top with chocolate chunks.
  • To bake the brownies, preheat oven to 350 degrees, spray an 8x8 inch pan, combine brownie mix with 1/2 cup melted butter, 2 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, then bake for 20-22 minutes.
