Real Onion Dip

Directions

  1. 1Dice up about 2 to 3 onions, around 2.5 cups worth
  2. 2Add half a stick of butter or 4 tablespoons to a saute pan on medium heat
  3. 3Add in the diced onions
  4. 4Add in salt, black pepper, half a teaspoon of onion powder, and a fourth teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  5. 5Cook on medium heat for about five minutes, constantly stirring
  6. 6Drop the heat to low medium for about 25 to 30 minutes until the onions get nice and golden brown
  7. 7Set the onions down and let them cool off
  8. 8In a bowl, add half a stick of cream cheese (about 4 ounces), a fourth cup of mayonnaise, and half a cup of sour cream
  9. 9Mix well
  10. 10Slice up a little bit of green onion and add some of it in
  11. 11Mix well
  12. 12Add in your cooled brown onions
  13. 13Mix well
  14. 14Transfer it to a pretty bowl
  15. 15Top it with a little bit of fresh scallions and some more cayenne pepper
