Directions

  1. 1Combine all seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
  2. 2Peel the potatoes.
  3. 3Slice the potatoes into thin spears.
  4. 4Submerge the potato spears in a bowl of water to remove excess starch; repeat until the water remains clear.
  5. 5Transfer the potatoes to a paper towel and pat them dry.
  6. 6Heat oil to 350 degrees and fry the potatoes in batches until lightly golden.
  7. 7Redunk the fries in the hot oil for a second round of frying until they are dark and golden brown.
  8. 8Toss the hot fries with the cajun spice mix until evenly coated.

  • 1 tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 3 whole idaho potato
  • oil for frying

Tips
