Serves 4

Directions

  1. 1Pat the pork shoulder dry with paper towels.
  2. 2Apply a thin layer of Duce’s Original Mustard Sauce over the entire surface of the pork to act as a binder.
  3. 3Generously season the pork with Duce’s Original Rub, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. 4Preheat your smoker to 250°F.
  5. 5Place the pork shoulder in the smoker and cook for 4-5 hours, or until the pork develops a rich, golden-brown color.
  6. 6Lay out a large sheet of aluminum foil or butcher paper on a flat surface.
  7. 7Place the pork in the center and top with butter, brown sugar, honey, and a splash of apple juice. Sprinkle additional rub over the top.
  8. 8Wrap the pork tightly, ensuring no liquids can escape, and return it to the smoker.
  9. 9Continue to smoke the pork until it reaches an internal temperature of 200°F.
  10. 10Carefully unwrap the pork and brush it with a mixture of Duce’s Competition BBQ Sauce and Duce’s DQ Glaze.
  11. 11Return the pork to the smoker, unwrapped, for an additional 10 minutes to set the glaze.
  12. 12Remove the pork from the smoker and let it rest for 15 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  13. 13Slice the pork and serve warm.
