Directions

  1. 1Grab peeled potatoes, ideally Carisma potatoes, and either using a mandoline or a knife, cut them into crinkle-cut or thinly sliced shapes.
  2. 2Rinse the cut potatoes until the water runs clear.
  3. 3Soak the rinsed potatoes in an ice bath for 10-20 minutes.
  4. 4For the sour cream and onion seasoning, blend salt, dried parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, sweetener, buttermilk powder, and dried dill in a blender for a few seconds until fine and smooth.
  5. 5Pat the potatoes completely dry with paper towels.
  6. 6Spray each side of the dry potatoes with cooking oil.
  7. 7Cook the potatoes: if using an air fryer, cook at 200°C for 10-15 minutes; if using an oven, bake at 200°C for 15-25 minutes. Remember to flip and spray oil halfway through for both methods until crispy.
  8. 8Add most of the prepared seasoning to the crispy chips and mix well.
  9. 9Sprinkle any leftover seasoning on top before serving.

Tips

  • Soaking the potatoes in an ice bath removes extra starch to make them even crunchier.
  • Thinner slices of potatoes will result in a crispier texture.
  • Flip and spray oil halfway through cooking for both air fryer and oven methods.
