Directions

  1. 1Salt your water.
  2. 2Add 1 pound of pasta to the boiling water.
  3. 3While the pasta cooks, start making the cheese sauce by adding half a stick of butter to a pot.
  4. 4Add half a stick of Velveeta to the pot.
  5. 5Add milk to the pot.
  6. 6Stir the cheese sauce until it is smooth and velvety.
  7. 7Add the three-cheese mix (Cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Gouda) to the cheese sauce and stir.
  8. 8Set the cheese sauce aside.
  9. 9Bring in the cold, rinsed al dente pasta in an aluminum pan.
  10. 10Add 2 cups of Parmesan cheese to the pasta.
  11. 11Add granulated garlic to the pasta.
  12. 12Add pepper to the pasta.
  13. 13Add more of the three-cheese mix to the pasta.
  14. 14Add a cup of milk to the pasta mixture.
  15. 15Mix all the pasta ingredients together.
  16. 16Pour the smooth and velvety cheese sauce over the pasta mixture.
  17. 17Mix the cheese sauce and pasta together.
  18. 18Top the mac and cheese with more cheese.
  19. 19Drizzle milk over the top of the mac and cheese to make it creamier.
  20. 20Sprinkle your favorite barbecue rub on top.
  21. 21Crank your smoker to 350 degrees Fahrenheit with oak wood for a smoky flavor until it's browned and crispy, about 30 minutes if using an oven.
