Grab two Granny Smith apples, dice those and throw them in the crockpot.
In a small mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of apple cider, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes.
Whisk all ingredients in the bowl until combined.
Pour the mixture on top of the apples and sausage in the crockpot.
Give it a good stir, making sure everything is coated.
Throw the lid on, set the temperature to low for 3 to 4 hours and wait.
Once the time is up, take the lid off and give it another quick stir.
If you have a to-go crock pot, throw it all in there. Pull a toothpick out of your pocket, stab a sausage and an apple, and put them both in your mouth.
