Directions

  1. 1In a large bowl combine three cups of flour, one and a half teaspoons each salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. 2Add one and a half cups lukewarm water and stir until you have a sticky dough ball.
  3. 3Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm spot for about two hours or until doubled.
  4. 4Use two forks to release the dough from the sides of the bowl and shape into a rough ball.
  5. 5Pour one tablespoon of olive oil over the top and turn the dough to coat.
  6. 6Transfer the dough to a buttered loaf pan and let it rise for about an hour, until the dough crowns the rim of the pan.
  7. 7Transfer the pan to a 375°F oven for 45 minutes.
  8. 8Turn the loaf out onto a cooling rack.
  9. 9Let it cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
