Directions
- 1Combine water, heavy cream, sugar, heaping teaspoon of cream of tartar, and vanilla in a small pot.
- 2Bring the mixture to a simmer on medium to low heat until all the sugar is dissolved.
- 3Remove from heat and let the syrup cool down.
- 4Fill a glass with ice, preferably nugget ice.
- 5Add a few tablespoons of the cooled syrup to the glass.
- 6Top with sparkling water.
- 7Optionally, add a little bit of maraschino cherry juice and a cherry to make a cherry cream soda.
- 8Store the remaining syrup in an airtight container in the fridge.
