Directions

  1. 1Season the chicken tenders generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper, then mix everything up and allow the tenders to dry out.
  2. 2To the flour, add corn starch, a little baking powder, and the same seasonings used for the tenders.
  3. 3Transfer 1/3 of the flour mixture into another bowl.
  4. 4Crack in some club soda or anything with fizz into the transferred flour mixture until it resembles a thin pancake batter consistency.
  5. 5Dip the dry tender into the wet batter, then into the dry mixture, one last time into the wet, and then finish in the dry mixture.
  6. 6To make the honey barbecue sauce, combine ketchup, a healthy amount of brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, a healthy amount of hot sauce, and honey.
  7. 7Add nubs of cold butter to the sauce to make it smooth.
  8. 8Drop the breaded tenders into oil set at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  9. 9After 5-6 minutes, remove the tenders and allow them to rest.
  10. 10Return the tenders to the oil for 1 minute to get them golden.
