Smoked Frozen Turkey

Directions

  1. 1Place the frozen turkey in the smoker at 450 degrees.
  2. 2After 30 minutes, check on the turkey. It should be starting to caramelize.
  3. 3Flip the turkey and continue cooking.
  4. 4Once the turkey is caramelized, lower the smoker temperature to 270 degrees.
  5. 5After 45 minutes, move the turkey to an aluminum pan.
  6. 6Sprinkle brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, and Lawry's seasoning salt over the turkey.
  7. 7Pour one can of Dr. Pepper over the turkey.
  8. 8Wrap the turkey in aluminum foil.
  9. 9Place the foil wrapped turkey back in the smoker for four hours.
  10. 10Check the temperature of the turkey. It should be at 165 degrees.
  11. 11Once the turkey is at 165 degrees, remove it from the smoker and let it rest.
